I first met Ben on a visit to the Volcom art department where here worked as a graphic / ad designer. Everybody was glued to their computer monitors working on projects for the brand, he stood out from most of the designers as he had his own personal style that I could relate to.
We soon walked down for a break and skated the private skatepark they had at the time, I didn't really know much of him, It was cool to see him rolling on a board, might have been a Duane Peters board and doing some old school tricks. That shit never gets old in my book, he had a really great approach and style about himself. I didn't know he was a ripping surfer / artist, I just thought he worked for the brand, little did I know.
He is straight up radicalness!!! Internationally know for his work. He is currently the surf art director at Oniell, If you ever get the chance to check out one of his shows do so, I'm a huge fan of the artist know as Ben Brough, "33".
